Bassist Russ England has been playing in bands since he started his own as a teen with his younger brother and best friend in South Dakota.

Lead guitarist Mike Scanlon imprinted blues into his DNA as a boy in Mississippi and started noodling when he was 13.

Drummer Ken Ross hails from New York and toured the midwest holding the beat for his bands.

Christy Ann Welty started writing songs in 2008 and brought together Burnt Sugar Blues to play them.   She also sings, blogs and plays western flute.
